feature on bomb blast in Lahore railway

Feature on Bomb Blast on Lahore Railway station, 24th April, 2012
Rihana woke up early in the morning and prepared breakfast for his husband and the kids going to school. She didn’t knew that she was giving breakfast to her husband Muhammad Boota, a fifty year old porter at Lahore railway station, for the last time. Rihana and boota had nine children in which 7 were girls and there were two baby brothers. They live in the area of Chungi Amar sahdhu and were married for about 25 years. Their first three daughters are married and the rest still live with the family. Rihana gave a good luck see off to her husband and Muhammad Boota went to his work.
According to his friends, Boota restlessly worked through the day carrying people’s luggage from platforms to outdoor and from outdoor to platforms. He was seen active at all the service shifts from 8 in the morning till the last where he was carrying a bag to his death. Muhammad Boota was the one porter who was carrying the bag that contained the bomb. His friends say that this was the only simple moment they left him out of their site. Nobody saw him take the bag and the person who gave him this bag. Poor Boota didn’t realize at all that not every bag is meant to be taken and carried to destinations. When Boota reached at Platform number 2 with that black bag he was asked to give a checking of that bag by the Railway police constable Idrees, a 40 year old person with a very good history of his service in railway. When Idrees frisked him the bomb exploded and both Muhammad Boota and Idrees died on the spot. The bomb’s explosion was so intense that one of the eye witnesses said that at first they thought that a tire burst or a cylinder exploded, but as they all went out to see it they realized a bomb had exploded. He saw splinters of window glass mostly and the whole area filled with dust. People were rushing here and there and some of them were unconsciously lying on the ground. Furthermore he added that government should at least take appropriate steps to safe guard the public transport. After some time rescue operations started and picked up the injured and railway police was the first one to announce both Porter Muhammad Boota and Constable Idrees dead. Media officials and bomb disposal Squad probe into the investigation of the incident. The bomb disposal squad at first declared the area safe after a complete check for any further threat.

At home, Rihana was watching T.V and was worried that what ever happened to her husband, Muhammad Boota was not picking up the cell phone and it was going for a non-responding answer. Rihana was quite worried that at last a call came from the police that her Husband Muhammad Boota was killed in the bomb blast. A hell broke out on Rihana on getting this news. His children cried a lot as they were now orphans. The next morning his body arrived in an enclosed casket at his house where his relatives had arranged the final settings for the funeral ceremony.

The next morning Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif called Rihana and shared condolences with Rihana and said that government is here to support the left 6 children of Late Muhammad Boota by giving an aid of Rs. 5 Lakh to his family.
Rihana said that all those who were involved in the killing and this bomb explosion will be answerable to Allah Almighty. And her curse is upon the terrorist till their life. Her shout was that who will support her children now? Who will take care of her and her family now?

A Question which every relative of the bomb blast incident has been asking since 2001
