Advantages of traditional newspaper
Newspaper production is a regularly
scheduled publication containing interest, information, and business, commonly
printed on relatively inexpensive, low grade material such as newsprint. By
2007 there were 6580 daily newspaper in the reality selling 395 million copies
in a day. The worldwide withdrawal of 2008, one with the fast growth of
web-based alternatives, caused a thoughtful fall in business and circulation,
as umpteen papers blinking or sharply retrenched operations. But it has many
advantages over e-paper such as given below:
Easily
approachable:
Traditional newspaper is quite cheaper
than electronic newspaper and is easily affordable by everyone. Every person
can get the traditional papers with no difficulty. It is easily available in
markets, on roads sold by people and most of the people have the service that
provides them traditional papers in their homes at very cheaper rates.
Unavailability
of computer or internet:
Most of the time you don’t have a
computer around and if you do carry one, you may not have the access to the
internet. Furthermore, a lot of people find a notebook computer cumbersome
although the size of which has become smaller now-a-days. Moreover news on the
internet is transient where if the web-address is changed, the sites providing
the newspaper also disappear. So this actually brings problems to the readers
as they need to read the news fast and simple ways but then technology also can
cause more complex problem than the traditional ways. Therefore reading a
“Real” paper is still the choice for them. In fact, you can carry a traditional
printed news paper and read it any where as on the bus, on the plane and on a
cruise ship.
Lighter
weight:
We can virtually carry this piece of
paper to every where and most importantly, the weight of the printed newspaper
is much lighter than a notebook and certainly a desktop computer. We may not
have enough space to carry laptops or notebook computers with us as they take
more space. On contrary, a traditional newspaper takes a little space and can
be folded.
Local
area news:
There are some local area newspapers in
which local area news or news about the community of that area are published by
traditional means time to time that may not be available through electronic
means. In this way people get aware of there local community news.
Easily
understood by villagers:
Newspaper or traditional newspaper is
easily understood by village people or people who can just read and don’t know
how to use computer. And yet they remain in touch with current affairs and
lifestyles through traditional newspapers and they don’t find it complex or
difficult to use while reading these newspapers. One can just buy the newspaper
at very cheaper rate and start reading it at anyplace, any time and in any way.
Great
number of readers of traditional newspaper:
Ratio of traditional paper readers to
e-paper readers is relatively high as traditional newspapers are also read in
villages where every person don’t have the source to read e-paper. Moreover
people find it easy way to read.
Versatile:
Traditional newspapers are available in
all languages used in Pakistan.
According to Statistical Department of
Pakistan there were 1464 newspapers in all languages published in four
provinces of Pakistan.
